Levenmouth Connectivity Project: River Park Routes Event 2

  19-May-2023 |   The Leven Programme

Come along to the second of two public events on Friday 19 May 2023 (1pm-7pm) at The Centre, 1 Broomieknowe, Leven KY8 4QP.

The purpose of this second event is to outline how people's views on the proposed path network in the River Leven valley, referred to as the River Park Routes, have been addressed (through any updated design or mitigation measures).

Views will also be collected via an online consultation page which will be updated with more information on the River Park Routes and a questionnaire ahead of this first event and will remain open until 26th of May 2023.

Whilst there have been a range of community engagement events and activities held over the last three years we are holding two further public drop-in events to allow interested parties to view, discuss and comment on the current proposals, prior to submitting an application for planning permission.

We encourage as many people as possible to attend the events, view the proposals and provide their comments via the online consultation website – this is an opportunity for you to voice your views in your local planning process.

Mini 'River Park Routes' description

Many will be aware of our active travel project – the Levenmouth Connectivity Project. The River Park Routes are part of the wider Levenmouth Connectivity Project and are being delivered by Green Action Trust.

The river park routes are off-road active travel links within the River Leven valley, designed for shared use by walkers, wheelers and cyclists. The network is formed of approximately 11km of 3-4m wide paths and will include improvements such as new lighting alongside the paths, new benches/seating/rest areas, natural play opportunities, new native tree, shrub, hedgerow and wildflower planting, the integration of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDs) and a new active travel bridge over the river and public space at the existing Burn Mill Dam.

The Proposal of Application Notice reference number is 23/00357/PAN if you would like to view the information submitted on the Fife Council Planning Portal.
